Starting up Catch...
Day to Play Catch
Waking in his nice cool bed on this warm spring day, a young William could not help could not help but make a yelling noise as he stretched out his arms and legs.
William was eager this day because his parents had planned a day in park. Rubbing his eyes, William wasted no time getting out of bed. He went down stairs with a quicken pace to greet his parents in the kitchen and have nice warm stack of pancakes.
"Good Morning" his dad said from behind a newspaper followed quickly by William's mother who said "Morning hun, how did you sleep." who was putting breakfast on the table.
"Morning, Mom. Morning, Dad. I slept great." William replied "When are we going to the park?" he asked with a smile on his face before taking a bite of his pancakes.
His father put down the paper just far enough to see young Williams, "We will be going in the early afternoon. We all and that includes you have to finish our chores." Once his father was done speaking he went back to ready the paper.
Smiling back, William said "Not to worry, I will get my room cleaned up right after breakfast." Both parents looked at each other, gave quick laugh and said "We will see" at nearly the same time. Obviously this was not the first time William had made that statement. William known that said that a lot but he was going to show his parents that he meant it this time. After all he did not want to upset either of his parents on this day.
After breakfast was done, young Williams helped load up the dishwasher before making his way back to his room. There in his room William faced his greatest foe who goes by the name "Messy William." Looking around at the chaos he had caused William saw all the things that needed to be done. Dirty clothes picked up, toys put away, dusting, vacuuming, making his bed. He took a deep breathe in and then out and said to himself "Why do I allow my room to get so bad." before diving in.
A few hours have passed and standing at his doorway young William was admiring his now clean room. Thinking to himself saying "I need to keep it clean this." William's mother walked by. She gave his from a quick look over and saying "You should keep your room this clean everyday so it is not so much of a chore. Now please go help your father finishing up the yard while I get picnic basket ready"
William did as his mother asked and went looking for his father outside to find out what there was left to do. Outside William found his father preparing to trim and asked what he could do to help before his father started.
"You could start by picking up all sticks in the so I cam mow the grass after I am do trimming." William did not waste time and did went about picking up all the sticks. Going over the yard twice, William made sure all the branches had been picked up. By the time William had finish his duty, so too was his father done trimming the grass.
"all right my boy, go head inside and get cleaned up. Once I am done here I will do the same and we will go to the park." With a quick dash William went inside and up the stairs straight to the bathroom. Removing all of his dirty clothes, William hoped into the shower and got cleaned up. After his shower he wrapped a towel around him, picked up his dirty clothes and went to his room where he was about to threw his dirty clothes on the floor. "No, I better put them in the clothes basket" he thought to himself.
Now in clean clothes, William made his way back to the kitchen and sat there as his mother was putting the remainder of foods in the basket. Just then his father walked into the kitchen from outside.
William's mother looked at his father and said "We are all set. Once you taken a shower we can leave and do not come never me until you do." with a smile on her face. About a thirty minutes later William was getting restless when his father finally came down stairs. He walked up to his wife and kissed her before saying "Do we have everything?" She responded with "Yes dear, I packed our lunch" Looking at young William his said "Alright, lets grab our bat, gloves, and some baseball and be on our way."
The twenty minute drive left like an hour to William when they finally made it to the park. "Help me with the blanket and then you boys can go play catch while I can read this book." William's mother said.
Once they found a good spot to lay the blanket out, William and his father headed out to safe place to play with the bat and ball while the mother sat down on the blanket and started to read her book.
About twenty minutes in and William had a smile from ear to ear. The joy he was having with his dad as they played catch. At times his father would use the bat and teach William how to catch different types of hits.
Ten more minutes had passed when William spotted a couple of his close friends at the park.
Does William Ask his Dad if They can Join or Continue Playing With Just his Dad?
