Day off

To get as rich as me, one must work very hard. I did not work in the heavy industry sector which dominated the city. There were high barriers to entry due to capital costs and the tight control that the noble conglomerates exerted. Many tens of thousands of people worked in factories, of course, but ownership of those factories was not open to anyone. That didn’t concern me much, though. I’d founded Somerled Finance seven years ago and it was growing faster than any other company in the realm according to business reports. Eisenheim had been transformed in the past forty years from a small city known only for its mining into an industrial centre and there was much money to be made – if you knew how.

I knew how. My luxurious penthouse spoke to that. However, one does not become wealthy through indolence - I worked very hard, so days off were few and far between. I wanted to make the most of it.
