Chapter 6 by zewesman zewesman

"Who are the current acoyltes on Korriban?" asked a voice hidden in shadows to his assistant.

Day Two Begins

“My lord, we have a report from Korriban,” said a man in an Imperial Navy uniform, the pips on his neck indicated a rank of Captain in the Imperial Navy. “It seems the boy challenged his overseer to a fight on the first day,” continued the man.

“I see,” a mechanized voice came from the helmet that covered the man’s face. It connected to the armor that covered the man’s body. “It seems the body has learned nothing during his time on Dromund Kaas. Contact Harkun and tell him to give my son only the harshest of challenges. He will either break from the strain and show he is not truly a Sith or he will prosper and become far stronger than anyone could imagine,” The monotone robotic voice told the captain.

“Aye, my lord. I shall relay your message to Korriban,” assured the captain.

“Captain, Darth Aennorn! We will be arriving in 10 seconds!” announced an ensign.

“Very good. Raise the shields and prepare to fire as soon as we come out of hyperspace!” ordered the captain.

“I’ll leave the battle in space to you, Captain Vaals. Inform the 501st that they will deploy with me to the planet’s surface,” ordered the Sith Lord before he turned and made his way to the elevator down to the hangar bays.

“You’re late!” snipped Harkun at Wes as he entered the room, at the proper time as he did a quick glance at the clock.

“But Overseer, I’m right on time. And Rusel just showed up after me!” countered Wes. An annoyed look made its way across Harkun’s face as Wes spoke his words. But then an early morning message he received from Darth Aennorn made a wicked smile twist its way across his face. Harkun quickly raised his hands up as lightning erupted from his fingers and arched right for Wes.

“ARGH!” cried out Wes in pain as the Force Lightning surged through his body. He looked up and saw a look of enjoyment on Harkun’s face as the Overseer shocked Wes into submission. Wes collapsed to his hands and knees.

“Hah. Weakling! Just give up and go home. You aren’t strong enough to be a Sith!” taunted Harkun as he continued to hit Wes with Force Lightning. Rusel, no longer able to hold it in, burst out in laughter as he watched his rival squirm in pain.

“I.” started Wes as he steeled his resolve. “Will.” he continued as he lowered himself with his arms. “Not,” he said as Wes launched himself up with his arms. “YIELD!” finished Wes as he rose to his feet and broke off the Force Lightning.

“Well, look at you. Congratulations on bringing yourself to your feet. I’ve never seen an acolyte be able to do that while being hit with my Force Lightning. Perhaps you have more worth than I thought,” confessed Harkun as he finished up his little fun with Wes. “Now, on to today’s business. Our Imperial Reclamation Service are currently clearing a path to the Valley of Dark Lords. We shall assist them by using our Force abilities to help clear debris as well as sense possible entrances via the Dark Side. I shall now group you in teams of two and send you to an area to assist,” explained Overseer Harkun.

“But Overseer, we have an odd number of people,” pointed out Tamil.

“Ah yes. So one of you will be alone. Wes, since you decided to be late, you shall be by yourself. I expect you to not only do the same amount of work as the other pairs, but even more!” Harkun told his acolyte, that same smile once again on his face.

“As you wish, Overseer,” Wes said through gritted teeth.

The class split up into their selected groups and each took a transport out to the Valley of the Dark Lords to begin their assistance in the excavations. The students went up to the lead excavators, who were happy to have assistance from Sith, even if they were mere acolytes.

“Yes, yes, I’m glad the academy finally sent people over to assist!” a rather eccentric looking man told Rissa and Tamil. The two girls sighed as they nodded along to the old man’s ramblings. The two quickly went about doing the various tasks the man ordered as he went back to his calculating to best open a tunnel safely.

Rusel, meanwhile, had abandoned his partner and excavator and went off to explore on his own.

“What was the Overseer thinking, having me come out here and waste my talents on this shit? This work is beneath a Sith of my caliber! I’ll show him, I’ll show them all!” roared Rusel as he wandered around the Valley, hoping to find an entrance to one of the many tombs.

“Hmm. I was told I would be getting two acolytes to assist me,” a man in a pristine Imperial Archaeology uniform said to Wes as the acolyte approached the base camp.

“I am sorry to report that our class had an odd number of acolytes, and Overseer Harkun thought it best if I came here alone. I apologize that my punishment negatively affects you,” Wes informed the man, who nodded to what the young Sith said.

“I believe we are both being punished. Harkun and I...we’ve had our differences. Perhaps you are not as bad as I thought, young acolyte. I am Lord Oswall, Overseer of the Imperial Reclamation Service here on Korriban,” the diligent Sith Lord said to the young acolyte, who bowed in respect to his new temporary Sith master.

“Your first duty shall be to assist Moores and Talrik with their digging. They’ve found a collapsed tunnel and the digging tools may do further damage if used. Your force skills should be able to remove the stone and rock without further collapse. Now go,” commanded the Sith Lord, to which Wes bowed and left. It was only a few minutes walk to Moores and Talrik’s digging area.

“Hiya, you must be the acolyte!” said a cute Human girl with bright pink hair and a well-developed chest that was barely hidden by her undershirt. Wes couldn’t help but take a few quick glances at her hidden globes as he approached them.

“Hello. I am Acolyte Wes, here to assist your excavation efforts. How can I help?” asked Wes in a friendly tone.

“Well, like Lord Oswall probably told you, we just need you to lift the rock and stone and such. But have you heard the news?” asked the male.

“No, what news?”

“The armada has taken Sluis Van! Their shipyards were destroyed and the planet is now under Imperial control!” the excited man told Wes.

“Is that so?” Wes said as his mind began to wonder about a commander of the Sith forces.

"Yes! The Empire shall burn the Republic to the ground!" said the excited man.
