Day Four

Kaylee and her father were trying to show me more advanced techniques now. I think I was understanding what to do, but my legs were too tired to comply. By mid-afternoon, I was ready to call it for the day. My body wasn’t used to this amount of physical activity and there were times where I legitimately thought my legs would simply give out when I was standing still. Kaylee and her dad didn’t seem to beat up about it.

“Scott?”

“What’s up?” I asked, looking down at the people below us as the lift slowly brought us up towards the top.

“Do you enjoy watching me have sex?”

For a second, I forgot to breathe as I looked over at her. Her face was red, but she didn’t shy away from my gaze. I couldn't tell if she was blushing or if it was red from the cold.

“W-what?”

“You enjoy the videos, don’t you?”

“Enjoy is a strong word.”

“I’m going to admit, I’ve been watching your reaction more than the videos. I can tell there is some excitement there.”

“I get to see the hottest woman on the planet naked. Of course I’m going to get excited.”

The way she smiled seemed like someone refraining from calling out someone's bullshit. “Having sex. I may be naked, but I’m having sex.”

Heart racing, I refused to look away. “I guess it’s like porno. I suppose I get a bit excited watching it, but isn’t that the point?” I cleared my throat, unable to take those blue eyes of hers anymore. “Why the sudden interest?”

“It’s hardly sudden. I’ve made no effort to hide my interest in you. Since you refuse to outright tell me what excites you, I’m **** to take more roundabout methods. Not that I’m complaining. I find it rather fun trying to puzzle you out.”

“I’m afraid you’re a bit off-base right now.”

“That so,” she said with a raised eyebrow.

“Uh, yeah. What kind of pervert gets off watching his own girlfriend with another guy?”

“That’s not—”

“I’m not,” I said firmly. The look I gave her made it clear I didn’t want to talk about it anymore.

“O-okay,” she said quickly. “I was just wondering.”

“And now you have your answer.”

She gave me an apologetic smile, but I found not even that could clear up my foul mood. I wasn’t angry at her, but at myself. Watching them got two real and conflicting reactions from me. One was a powerful physical reaction, the other a crushing mental one. It made no sense. If something revolted me, why was I reacting to it as if I liked it?

We should have never watched those videos.
