Eleanor knocked on the door of 302 Willow Road, waiting for an answer. “Eleanor,” Mr. Behr said, smiling as the door opened. “Thank you so much for agreeing to watch Cynthia for us yet again. You’ve been doing a tremendous job and we appreciate your efforts. Obviously we had hoped Cynthia would behave herself considerate she’s an adult now, but unfortunately we can’t leave her alone.”
“Oh it’s no problem, Mr. Behr. I understand,” Eleanor said. “Sometimes teens have a harder time maturing even after they turn 18. I’m sure Cynthia and I will have so much fun. You enjoy your vacation.”
Mr. Behr nodded. “We’ll be gone for a few weeks so make sure to make yourself at home. Call us if there are any problems. We want a full report on how everything goes.”
Eleanor nodded. “Yes, sir. You can count on me.”
“Great,” Mr. Behr said. “My wife put her stash of diapers in the bottom cabinet under the bathroom sink. If you need to buy any more, we can happily reimburse you. Just send us the receipts.”
Eleanor nodded. “I’ll see you later.”
With that, Mr Behr headed out the door as his wife was waiting in the car. Eleanor smiled as the two pulled away. Eleanor looked around and called out. “Oh Cindy! Come on down! We’re going to have so much fun these next few weeks!”
