Courtney sighed as she laid on her bed staring at her ceiling. "Well, Courtney Jones, you've royally messed up today." She muttered to herself, as some tears broke free from the corner of her eyes. "He...he's never going to want to see you. I've ruined everything. I...I just don't get it. I...I'm nice to everyone...why can't it ever be my turn?" She asked her ceiling.
Courtney reached over and grabbed her teddy bear. The one that Jeremy had won for her last year at the state fair. "I...oh God." She said as she started crying again. She sighed looking the bear in it's shiny button eyes, "And...and Sharon...why?"
She cried as she imagined Jeremy and Sharon together, happy. She cried as she imagined herself alone...forever. "I don't want to be alone, I really don't. There's got to be someone out there for me...was I too focused on Jeremy? Did I just miss someone else?" She said to herself, hugging her teddy tight to her young body.
She didn't even realize how long she was laying there when her door opened and her mother walked in, "Hey Courtney you ready to...Courtney? What's wrong?" Her mother asked concerned.
