Chapter 13
by Wraithne
What is Dietrich's answer?
Counter Offer and construction.
"Sorry, Hans. thanks for the offer, I get you're trying to be a friend and everything, but I want to do my own thing." He had a friendly smile and you could understand his point. Still, you did like him as a person so you didn't take it offensively or anything. "Though I don't mind helping you and exchanging technology for samples from those creature your "gods" interact with at times." You could hear the air quotation marks about the gods part but you took note of his interest.
"Alright, seems a fair deal." You had no problem making that exchange. You knew where a few of your samples where at. Mainly of Chimeras, Nemeans (a Kraken to be precise), Trolls, Giants, A Feniar, and a Savatalfar. You had samples from other supernatural beings, but mostly from those categories since they tended to hunt Aesir more than any other type of creature. Besides Thomas, you had yet to run into any were-creatures even though werewolves hunted your kind as well. Still. you figured a few samples of these creatures would do fine. "I have a few samples that I can part with. Blood, body parts, and so forth. Though, I should give you a heads up, some of these things would be hard to control and keep fed." You looked at the surprised look on Dietrich face at how easily you agreed to his terms.
"How many do you have at the moment? What type of creatures?" It seemed to be business time.
"I have four Chimeras, snake dogs from a pack. The flesh of a Kraken, nine troll gems, six giants' hearts, fur of a feniar and some Savaralfar hair. I'm willing to trade at least one sample of each for ten cloning machines and the knowledge of how to use them." Dietrich seemed to consider for a min before he made a counter offer.
-time skip-
After five hours of bartering back and forth, you two came to a decent deal. For half of your samples, and a sample of your own DNA, you would gain 12 machines along with him teaching you how to use them in exchange. He'd also supply a small lab to work in at the price of two million dollars for you to store samples and use the machines properly. For whatever reason, he decided to give you some medical books and other teaching supplies free of charge. After that, you two talk, exchanging information. You warned him about the risk of using divine blood and how it could have unpredictable consequences. Mainly your mother may claim the child as her and therefore break any control factors in the being, along with how you are immune to all known diseases and most poisons. He told you about a basic of cloning and how he enjoyed school for awhile and now is just starting up his own thing. In truth, it was enjoyable talk, even if a lot of it was just small talk. In truth, there were few you could have a high level intellectual conversation with and Dietrich was just generally a fun guy to talk to, even if he was now a rival. At the end of it, you both hung up and seemed to enjoy the conversation, wishing him good luck you cut the line.
Still, you laid down in bed and slept, making plans for the next few days. Building, war plans, and getting ready for guests, the laws required you treat them well.
-morning-
When you awoke, you found the godling was missing, but you didn't really care all that much. You could still smell him on the island and boats or planes only leave with your permission. Booting up your computer, you decided it was time to build your manor. It took only minutes for you to plan the size and lay out of the place. It would also act as the great hall for the island. It would be modest, but large enough to fit a few thousand people without damaging the forest. The walls would be sound proof for, well, several reasons. Then the building for each temple for the gods had to be modeled, causing you to sigh at the expense of everything. You put everything into motion. Deciding to use construction workers would be far more expensive and use up a majority of your personal money, but using the money for the community for your own personal stuff was not allowed. Making a few calls, you got what was needed to build the manor and shrines.
How long does everything take?
