What's going on?
Conversation with a henpecked husband
The place was set up in a way to seem like the house was still occupied and not a retail store. It was overcrowded with furniture, but not to the extent that it would be unlivable. Frank smiled at a pretty woman drinking a mug of tea at a small desk who greeted him as he came in and invited him to look around. She was wearing a black jacket with some kind of crest and a short black skirt with black stockings and heels. Frank smiled at her, admiring her petite beauty as he looked further into the house.
There were a few other people browsing, three couples who looked like they were more interested in spending a pleasant few minutes than spending a dollar. As Frank wandered about two the couples left, and the third seemed engaged in a whispered dispute that ended when the woman shook her head in irritation and strode out. The man looked at Frank and shrugged, strolling over to him.
"Wives," he said resignedly. "You got one?"
"Not any more," Frank replied.
"Lucky bastard. I wish I could say the same." He was much younger than Frank, somewhere in his thirties, but he had the harried look of a henpecked husband. "You know, when I married her she was great. Good tempered, lots of fun, liked a drink and a laugh and enjoyed the bedroom, you know what I mean? Now I can barely get her in the sack at gunpoint. Just kidding."
"It happens," Frank smiled, his voice non-committal.
"I'm still looking, y'know what I mean?" the man said. "I see something like the little piece that's running this place and I wonder why I got married. You see her?"
"I did, she's very nice."
"Nice? I'll say. What I wouldn't give for twenty minutes between her thighs. My names Tony by the way."
"Frank. Pleased to meet you." Frank smiled, a sudden mischievous thought entering his head. "What if I told you I could make that happen. Would you share?"
"What? You're kiddin' me. Sure pal go wave a magic wand and make it happen. If you do I'll certainly share."
Frank nodded thoughtfully and shook Tony's hand again before strolling back to the front room.
