Control Regained

DEBUG_HERO closed up his pipe of magical energy and felt the effects of the berserker potion dissipate. He felt drained and his wounds were all clamoring to be heard at once. Far too many wounds. He felt unsteady and weak. DEBUG_HERO found himself on his knees, his vision growing hazy and spotted for a very different reason.

Grasping for any way to stay alive, DEBUG_HERO pulled out a potion. His hands were unsteady and he couldn't feel the bottle and could barely see it. The stopper stopped him. He couldn't get it out. Not knowing what else to do, DEBUG_HERO slammed the whole thing into his mouth and chomped down on it. Another pinpoint of pain blossomed as the glass cut his mouth. Then he felt it cutting his throat as he swallowed. DEBUG_HERO slumped to his side on the ground as the pain overwhelmed him.

A small feeling of relief blossomed in his stomach and began to spread outwards. It was brief, but it was enough for DEBUG_HERO to struggle through pulling another potion and repeating the painful process of eating it whole. Again pain tore through DEBUG_HERO, but it was followed, quicker this time, by the blossoming relief of his body healing. This time he felt his strength return, but his wounds were many and he still was injured. He searched himself for another potion. He had used the last one.

He **** himself up to his feet and stumbled over to Talon's naked body. She was quite beautiful, but the way her eyes were looking at him spoke of no romance. Her eyes spoke of shock, horror even. They spoke of confusion and awe. They spoke of concern and fear.

"It's okay. I'm myself again," DEBUG_HERO reassured. It didn't seem to work.

The shackles around her required a key. DEBUG_HERO looked over at the barbarian woman. She had a set of keys tied to her hide skirt. He walked over and she flinched back as though expecting another blow. When DEBUG_HERO grabbed the keys and moved away to remove the shackles she asked, "Are you not going to kill me?"

"No. Enough have died today," DEBUG_HERO said, his tone grieved by his own actions.

Talon stumbled out of the rack and DEBUG_HERO caught her, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," she said as she pulled away to support herself. She hesitated then said, "Um, I, thanks."

Talon looked at the barbarian bandit leader and pulled DEBUG_HERO's sword out of his sheath, "Bitch! You will pay!"
