Connection.

Sam was looking at both files which to be honest pretty thin files. There was no physical evidence and as as expected the forensics from the hotel room had reveal nothing. Harriet Gorman's car had been located in a town halfway between the city and the mountains. It had been left in a run down area of the town and consequently stripped but the VIN number had been matched to records.

So far she had looked for connections and found that the Judge and prosecutor had worked presided over several cases jointly. Ten to be exact but all of the convicted were still in jail so that was a dead end in as far as they could not have physically done the kidnappings. It did not mean they could not have organised the kidnappings with outside help but then what was the purpose. No ransom had been received and no bodies turned up.

One more connection was the fact that CCTV had been interrupted on both occasions which made it feel that it was more likely intended. She re watched the footage from the judges drive and the prosecutors drive. She watched the prosecutor checking into the hotel and then checking out. As she watched it for the twentieth time she saw it. As the woman signed the credit card receipt her sleeve rode up revealing a tattoo.

Sam knew the real prosecutor did not have a tattoo so she concluded that Harriet had been taken from the hotel. She took the footage own to the forensic's lab and asked them to try get a clearer image of the tattoo. She was told to return tomorrow they may have something for her. Sam returned to her office some what buoyed by her discovery and reporting it to her boss.
