Confronted by Shining Armor

It was late when Cadance heard an insistent knock on her door. The guests had long since left, the palace was silent, and Cadance had managed to clean up enough to stop smelling of sex. Wearing a thin, diaphanous nightgown that did very little to hide her voluptuous figure, the princess rolled out of bed and padded over to the door. There was a pretty short list of people who would be knocking at this hour, and as she slid the door open a crack she wasn't at all surprised to see her husband there, still fully dressed and with a worried expression on his face.

"...darling? Is everything okay?"

Shining Armor paused for a moment, leaning against the door to push it open and then closing it behind them, leaving the couple alone in the starlight shining in through the large windows of Cadance's bedroom.

"Cadance. What happened today? No, even more than that. Who are you?"

"What do you mean?"

"I'm- I know we're not a normal couple. I can accept that. But especially recently...it feels like you're someone different entirely. Not even different. I don't even know who you are. Where were you today? Who are we? What is-" He paused, gesturing at their royal surroundings. "What is this?"

Reaching for her shoulders, he hesitated, shaking his head and withdrawing, unable to touch her.

"Cadance. Please. I need to know about us."
