Chapter 9 by LBJ LBJ

Evening

Confront the CEO

Fueled by determination and a desire to uncover the truth, you gather the courage to confront the CEO about your friend's sudden change in demeanor. As you question him, his response is nothing but dismissive laughter, as if your concerns hold no weight. He brazenly claims that your friend is happier now than ever before, under the influence of the secretary's spell.

In an act of defiance, you accuse the CEO of lying, challenging the authenticity of your friend's newfound contentment. Unfazed by your accusations, the CEO proposes a wager—a test that will determine the secretary's true happiness in her new role. If the secretary admits to being genuinely happy as the CEO's assistant, you will be required to wear the heels he offers you. However, if the secretary refuses to continue in her role, the CEO promises to reverse the changes that have befallen your friend.

This wager presents you with a difficult decision. Do you accept the CEO's challenge, hoping to expose the secretary's discontent and potentially reclaim your friend's loyalty? Or do you decline, recognizing the CEO's manipulative nature and seeking an alternative path to uncover the truth?

The choice is yours to make, and it carries significant consequences. Accepting the wager means putting your own vulnerability on display, donning the heels the CEO offers as a symbol of submission. It is a risky move, as the CEO may further exploit your perceived weakness. On the other hand, declining the wager signifies your refusal to play into the CEO's manipulative game, forcing you to seek an alternative plan to free your friend from the spell's grasp.

Accept the wager?
