Compromise

Jake narrowed his eyes.

"What would you give me in exchange?" he asked.

The doppelgänger shrugged.

"I told you I got here by magic", he said. "Where do you think I learnt it? The mirror world is full of magic."

The prospect of being an expert magic user appealed to Jake, but he was still suspicious.

"Why did you leave, if it was so great?" he asked his double.

"Everyone needs a change every now and then", the doppelgänger replied, but didn't elaborate further.
