What happens when you wake up?

Coming to

You come to with a splitting headache and a throbbing in your leg.

"Good to see you're finally awake." A cold female says.

"No thanks to your goons. Am I too far off to believe you're in charge here?"

"As far as you're concerned I am."

"Okay, so we've established that we don't like each other, and that you have the upper hand. How's Cyndi?"

"I think the term 'mindfucked' is appropriate here. She is however, unharmed." The woman sighed and tossed her dark glasses on a table, before spinning a chair and straddling it next to your bed. "You dropped something." She says dropping the bloody bullet into your hand. You peer at your leg in surprise only to find that it's closed itself.

"How-"

"Your body's regenerating itself." The woman laughs sending chills down your spine. "You have no idea of the gift you've been given."

"Okay lady," You prop yourself up and make eye contact, more for the formality of it than anything else. Not surprisingly this strange woman is immune to your power, but you continue anyway. "I've had a rock the size of Rhode Island dropped on my head, been in a coma for 8 months, developed strange mind control powers, come out here trying to find some answers and ended up shot in the leg and cracked over the head. Would it be too much to ask for some answers?"

"Not at all." She says as though talking about the weather. "Ask away."

"You got a name?"

"You may use my code name, Titania."

"The fae queen from Shakespear's A Midsummer Nights Dream. Interesting. Who do you work for, FBI, NSA, military?"

"I work for Sector Sigma."

"Ah... Black ops, official denial. So what are you into, homeland security?"

"Good guess. You can understand why we're a little leary of a teenager having the power to say, walk into the White House and have the president splatter his brains all over the Oval Office."

"Good god, I'd never-"

"Not of your own free will no. But there are others who would and others who could make you."

You gasp at the implications. "There... are other's?"

Tatiana nods. "The meteor that struck you was part of a storm that passed through this section of space. Intel estimates that approximately 100 fragments got caught in Earth's orbit. Roughly half of those burned up during reentry, another two dozen downed themselves in unaccessable areas, the Marianas trench, several active volcano's, things like that."

"Places no man can reach. That means there's another... 25, 26? Did they impact in populated areas?"

"There's hope for you yet." Tatiana smirked. "Yes. One was recovered intact, but the others became contact situations, like yours. Not all survived."

"My god. How many?"

"We estimate ten, fifteen total. You somehow managed to absorb not only the ambient radiation from the intruder, but the physical mass as well. We believe you could be the most powerful of the survivors found to date."

"Too powerful to live."

"I never said that." Tatiana snapped. "While we did have to sanction survivors who proved to be a potential threat to national security, some have joined our organization and still others are under voluntary observation."

"So what do you want from me?"

"We want to implant a control chip in your cranium."

You blink, thinking you've stepped into a bad sci fi movie. "Define control chip."

"You mess up, your head goes poof."

"You're not exactly selling me on the idea."

"You'd be free to live your life as you wish, provided you don't draw undo attention to yourself, and there are certain... perks to the job." Tatiana smirks and presses a button on her watch. "Bring her in." A moment later two gaurds come in dragging a teenaged girl between them. "Like you, this girl was caught trespassing." Tatiana crossed the room and grabbed the girl by her chin and stared into her eyes. Slowly her struggles died down and she stood mindlessly entranced. The realization suddenly dawns on you.

"You're a survivor! But your eyes-"

Tatiana chuckles and whispers in the girls ear, then returns to your bedside as the guards leave with the same fluid grace they entered. "Colored contacts. They don't make the slightest difference when it comes to your powers, but they make you blend in a lot better. By now I'm sure you've figured out that the majority of us here are survivors, which is why your powers don't affect me and mine don't affect you. You are however still susceptable to standard brainwashing and hypnotic techniques, but we can teach you ways around that. We also want to run some test to help you reach your full potential, but you don't have to hurry and answer. Enjoy young Melissa's company, and just use the buzzer on the table when you decide." With that, Tatiana swept out of the room leaving you with the still entranced Mellissa.

What to do...
