Comfort her by putting your arm around her

I leaned a little bit closer to her and gently put my arm around her shoulders waiting to see if she would shrug me off and push me away. When she didn't I pulled her close to me and wrapped her in a hug. I leaned down until my head rested on her hers and calmly said, "Emily. Are you okay?"

Through her gentle sobs she told me, "No, not really. Abby wasn't supposed to tell anyone that I hadn't had my first kiss yet, especially not the boy I was planning to have my first kiss with, you. It really surprised and upset me that she would betray me like that especially in front of you and I just lost it. I'm sorry, you probably think I am horrible and overemotional now but I just can't help it."

Giving her a gentle squeeze I responded, "Hey...no, that is not what I think at all. I would be hurt if my friend Joe did the same thing to me, and besides, I like a girl who stays in touch with her real emotions rather than fake ones she conjures up to trick guys. I am also honored to be your first kiss. Now, did I understand from your earlier statement that Abby was not supposed to tell me specifically about you not having a first kiss? Why is it me specifically?"

"I have seen you in the stands with your guy friends every practice for a while and while everyone else is bouncing from girl to girl as they see a more revealing show, you didn't. Your gaze never left me and Abby. I started to wonder about you and I even tried to taunt you to see how you would react but you just wouldn't take the bait and make me feel like I was just a glorified porno. I started to feel something for you. I have been talking to Abby for months about whether or not I should try and ask you out considering you are two grades ahead of me."

"Really? You have a crush on me? Well, this should be no big deal then. So stop crying and lets get back to having fun because you don't need to be worried because I came down to talk to you guys because I have a crush on you." She picked her head up and looked at me as her fading tears shined in her lower eyes causing a sparkle to appear, and just looked at me with a blank look. Then she just leaned into me and planted her lips back onto mine just like they were a mere couple of minutes before. And there we sat for a little just enjoying the feeling of each other and relishing in the fact that we both found someone else that had a crush on us at the same time. After we started to really lose our breaths, we pulled apart and I looked at her ready to explain not to be mad at Abby because Abby meant her no harm but Emily just put her delicate finger on my lip and just shook her head.
