Coach Garret is furious

“James what the fuck is going on! You’re getting sacked like a bag of potatoes! You haven’t completed a single pass tonight! And you dropped the ball during the snap!” Coach Garret yelled. “You’re on the bench! Hopefully our reserved player can do better than you.”

James’s eyes widened. Their reserved player was actually really good and had been campaigning for the star spot for years. James looked at Zach Colby as he grinned. “I’ll do my best coach, I’ve been telling you that James has been getting sloppy and today proves it.”

“Turn this game around and I’ll make you the star quarterback,” Coach Garret said.

James’s eyes widened. “W-wait coach, I’m the star,” James said. “You can’t take that away after one bad game.”

“Oh yes I can,” Coach Garret said. “And James, if Zach doesn’t turn this around, then you’ll be the one who pays for it. I promise you that.”

James gulped as they headed back out as the half-time show wrapped up. James sat down on the bench and looked over. The Dingos were all laughing, pinching their fingers together. James blushed as he saw the cheerleaders all giggling too. Zach took the field after the kick off and James was really really hoping that Zach wouldn’t turn this game around.
