Clothes at last!

Christina half walked, half jogged to the other end of the school where the gym was located, her bare feet making a light slapping sound on the cold tile floor as she moved. She rounded a corner into a hallway, slowing slightly to make sure she was still alone but quickly regaining her pace. She was virtually certain the building was empty and only loosely kept her hands in front of herself as a trivial safeguard.

She turned another corner and entered the hallway leading directly towards the gym. She broke into a full jog, seeing the female locker room ahead. Reaching the entrance, she pulled the door open and walked inside.

The locker room was dead silent. A room with white tile floors and walls covered in tile up to head level, it seemed almost sterile if not for the ugly yellow color of the lockers off-setting that impression. Christina stepped past the first aisle, walked into the second and made a beeline for her locker. Her fingers spun the padlock quickly, missing the first digit the second time around but making no mistakes at her second attempt. The locked popped. She flung the door wide. Her navy blue uniform sat in an untidy heap in front of her.

Christina was so overjoyed at the sight a childish part of her nearly grabbed the uniform and hugged it. She wasted no time, pulling the shirt up and over her head and jamming her arms through the sleeves. She slipped the shorts up her legs then over her hips and butt. Taking a deep sigh of relief she closed the locker door and started waking for the exit.

Guess I still have to walk home barefoot, she thought. Better than with nothing, though. Now I need to figure out what to tell my parents when I get there…
