BOUNCER (Paige Harker): A bouncer at the Cape & Cowl Club in the more upscale part of the city, Paige is a nonpowered hero who deals with mainly street-level crime with a pair of escrima sticks, over a decade of combat training, and a lot of luck. Her uniform consists of a tuxedo without the jacket (white shirt, black pants & suspenders, black dress shoes, bow tie), black gloves, and a domino mask. She's a tall black lady with a posh upper-class accent, and her straight dark hair tied back in a long ponytail.
DR. ANTONIA QUESTOR: Born in 1910, Antonia spent her youth traveling the globe with her parents, having all sorts of adventures. Becoming a renowned super-scientist in her own right, a trip to South America in 1937 discovered rare exotic herbs that prolonged her lifespan over the decades. Now, she's a wealthy woman, who occasionally uses super-technology to fight crime. Antonia looks like she's in her late 30s/early 40s, with shoulder-length dark red hair and green eyes. Despite her scientific background, she's a warm-hearted loving individual (as her three marriages can contest). Dr. Questor's "costume" consists of a dark blue military-style jacket, green-lensed goggles, black pants, a utility belt, and blue high-tech-looking sneakers. Her usual gear consists of "rocket-shoes", wrist-mounted energy blasters/grappling guns, and a ****-field belt, but she's been known to carry other superscience gadgets on her as well.
FROSTBITE: Real Name: Syd Dijek. After getting exposed to "zeroplasmic" energy, Syd began developing traditional ice-controlling powers. Virtually the next day, Frostbite first began fighting crime. An androgynous-looking individual with shoulder-length black hair and blue eyes, Frostbite's usual costume is a purple loose-fitting wizard-style attire with various designs. Much like his powers, Syd's somewhat cold and unemotional. Rather than seek publicity, Frostbite's usual MO is "snare the targets, then disappear."
GEODE: Real Name: Bart Franklin. Bart was genetically modified against his will by aliens, granting him the ability to turn into living crystal (a metallic red color with pupil-less blue eyes). In this form, he's virtually indestructible, with strength in the 15-ton range. He's also able to absorb and reflect light-based attacks, shoot "diamond shards", and shapeshift his hands into weapons like a T-1000. However, Bart has discovered that in this form, he's **** to sonic attacks. His costume (which appears when he transforms into Geode) is a leather bodysuit like in the X-Men films, but split down the middle in color (half-black/half white).
JOHNNY GOODE: An alien hero, "Johnny" received certain genetic/energy exposure treatments on his homeworld that amplified his strength, mental quickness and resistance to injury to much higher levels (strength in the 3-ton range). Crashing in Australia in the late 80s, "Johnny", as he calls himself, first started the hero game 6 years ago. Resembling a 6'6" skinny "fishman" with pointed ears, Johnny's usual attire consists of black jeans, a high-tech belt that keeps him alive (Johnny's race breathes a blend of nitrogen & sulfur, so the belt generates an atmospheric effect to keep him living), a blue pirate-style bandana, and red hightops. A large hoop hangs from one ear (since Johnny's technically a shipwreck survivor), and twin knife holsters are strapped to his legs. His "subsonic knives" generate an energy field that can "infect" an opponent with a powerful tranquilizer, or generate intense heat. Other than the energy treatments, the only other powers Johnny possesses are darkness vision and "spatial awareness" effect similar to Daredevil's radar.
MASTER KWAN: The traditional warrior monk, Kwan spent virtually his entire life growing up in the temple, learning the ways of combat. Now, he's living in the Dead Pantry district (similar to Hell's Kitchen) of Century City, learning the ways of the real world. A bald man of no known nationality, Kwan wears an outfit similar to Anakin Skywalker, minus the cloak, and with a dark green coat instead of black. He also has the tattoo of his temple on his left forearm. Some of the things he does (such as wall-crawling or his "combat senses") seem supernatural, but they're just part of his training. The truth of his origins is the fact that he's a clone, composed of the genetic material of the "Five Points of Chaos", a quintet of international assassins. Kwan was created to ensure the continued survival of the group. Though the temple he trained at forbids emotional attachments with people, physical exertion (so to speak) is completely acceptable.
PATRIOT: Real Name: Hank Russell. A former Navy pilot who was chosen for a project, Hank's physiology was amplified to the pinnacle of human achievement through a blend of special training and substances. The American Spirit personified, Hank's got the body and looks of a male model, but the true heart of a hero. His uniform consists of a dark blue skintight chain-mail uniform with a star pattern across the sleeves and chest, complimented by red boots and gloves. The Patriot's normal weapons are a wrist-mounted device that generates a 3-foot wide plasma disc that acts as a shield (can't be thrown, but can ricochet projectile and energy attacks back at the original target), and a pistol that fires various non-lethal projectiles (like tranquilizer darts or smoke capsules).
RANDALL (first or last name is unknown): A member of the Psychic Defense Unit from the early 23rd century, Randall arrived in the present day during the tracking of a fugitive. Possessing various psionic abilities (strong telepath, mid-level TK), growing up in a post-dystopic America has hardened and embittered Randall, making him a classic future badass. Though an honorary member of the Freedom Guard, many of the team members have a difficult time dealing with Randall, owing to his "ends justify the means/SWAT-style tactics" attitude. Randall appears to be in his late 30s, with short spiky black hair, permanent stubble, and an eyepatch. His "costume" is nothing more than his PDU uniform (dark green short-sleeved shirt, black tactical vest with PDU logo, black camo pants and boots, high-tech utility belt, dark green bandana). Randall's left leg has been replaced with a cybernetic one, containing an energy pistol in a retractable Robocop-style holster (the upper part of his pants on this side has been cut away for this purpose); other times, the gun just is attached to his cybernetic magnetically.
SHADOWDANCER: Real Name: Karen Vincent. A tomboyish Aussie chick, and a rookie hero, Karen's a blend of Joan Jett and Casey Jones. Standing at 5'4", with reddish-blond hair tied into two cute pigtails and dark Gothic-style makeup, Karen has control over darkness in various ways, including teleporting via shadows, creating objects and illusions like a Green Lantern, and temporarily "blinding" opponents with shadow-blasts. Her attire is not really fixed; generally, she dresses in a style that can be called "wannabe biker". When on "patrols", Shadowdancer usually carries a club of some sort with her (a baseball bat, lead pipe, whatever). Since she's only been in the game for about six months, the hero life is still a game for her. She has a tendency to tease and mouth off to her targets in combat a lot, saying things like "The class is Pain 101, an' I'm the teacher."
