Cleaning up the mess (on Suki's face)
Allison’s sigh was a soft, contented thing, a gentle exhalation that seemed to settle over the entire room. The raw, electric energy that had crackled in the air for hours finally began to dissipate, softening at the edges like a dream upon waking. She shifted on the sofa, the movement languid and replete, and her gaze—now warm and hazy with satisfaction—swept over the scene of beautiful, disheveled wreckage that was her kingdom.
“Well,” she murmured, her voice a low, melodic hum that was both a statement and a benediction. “I think that’s quite enough for one night, don’t you all?”
Her eyes found Suki, still kneeling on the carpet, face gleaming and utterly transformed. A fond, almost maternal smile touched Allison’s lips. “Oh, sweetheart. Look at you.” She reached out, not to wipe the mess away, but to gently tuck a strand of jet-black hair behind Suki’s ear, her fingertips brushing the sticky skin with undeniable affection. “You wore that well. My good girl.”
The praise, so tender and direct, sent a fresh shiver through Suki. The initial shock of the cool, drying juices on her skin was being replaced by a deep, glowing warmth that had nothing to do with temperature. She was a mess, a complete and utter mess, and yet under Allison’s gaze, she had never felt more… seen. More precious. The degradation melted into devotion, the shame into a strange, serene pride. She had served. She had pleased. The evidence was painted all over her, a glistening badge of honor.
“Come on, everyone,” Allison said, her tone lightening, becoming practical. She gently urged Suki to her feet. “The fun’s over. Time to clean up and get some rest.” She glanced around the room, her expression softening further as she took in the spent forms of the others. “You all were… incredible.”
The spell was broken, but gently, replaced by a collective, weary sigh. Cathy was the first to stir, stretching her arms over her head with a soft groan that was more satisfaction than pain. A wobbly smile appeared on her glossy face. “I feel like I’ve run a marathon,” she breathed out, laughing softly. “A really, really good marathon.”
Anita nodded, unfolding herself with a graceful weariness. She didn’t rush to cover herself, but simply stood, accepting her state of undress as a fact of the evening. “A shower,” she declared, her voice husky. “A very long, very hot shower is the next order of business.”
The twins, Sam and Erica, untangled themselves from Jo, their movements syncopated even in their exhaustion. They giggled, a sound that was tired but genuinely happy, as they helped each other up. “Race you to the bathroom,” Sam whispered, though it held no real competitive heat.
“You’ll just lose,” Erica shot back, her retort equally lackluster and affectionate.
Jo simply lay for a moment longer, a blissful, untroubled smile on her face. “I think I might just sleep right here,” she murmured, her voice thick with contentment. “It smells like happiness.”
Allison chuckled. “You’ll sleep in your bed, you decadent thing.” She turned her attention back to Suki, who was still standing motionless, seemingly unsure what to do with herself. “You first,” Allison said, her voice firm but kind. “Go on. Get cleaned up. Wash my taste off your face.” The command was undercut by the playful glint in her eye.
Suki finally moved, nodding mutely. She took a step, then another, her body feeling both heavy and weightless. As she passed a small mirror hanging by the door, she caught a glimpse of herself. Her breath hitched. A stranger stared back—a girl with wide, dark eyes peering out from a mask of dried, pearlescent streaks, her hair a sticky, chaotic frame. It was ridiculous. Absurd. And yet, a tiny, unexpected bubble of laughter rose in her throat. It was a soft, breathy sound, almost inaudible, but it was there.
The sound made Allison smile wider. “There she is,” she said softly. “Go on.”
The group began to disperse, moving with the slow, shared understanding of soldiers after a battle. There were no more dares, no more commands, only the soft rustle of movement and the occasional tired sigh. The remaining tension, the last vestiges of narrative heat, settled into a comfortable, playful silence.
Suki padded out of the lounge and into the cool quiet of the hallway, the sound of the others’ gentle preparations a soft echo behind her. She didn’t feel used. She felt… settled. Awoken. The house, which had been a place of terrifying, new desires, now just felt like home. And as she made her way to the bathroom, her face still dripping with its ridiculous, glorious mess, she realized the most surprising thing of all: she couldn’t wait to see what tomorrow would bring.
