Cindy keeps the seven of diamonds and seven of clubs

Cindy rearranged the cards so that they go from low to high; high to low from the blonde's point of view. After a moment she pushed the seven and nine towards the center. She then pushed the Ace away as well. After Tom picked up the cards, he turned to Linda. She turned her hand over at once.

"Like Cindy," Tom started, "You have a pair." He pointed to the two sevens Linda had shown.

"And like Cindy," he added, you have an Ace kicker. So you have the same decision as she had." Not surprising, Linda made the choice Cindy did. She pushed the ten and four away and then discarded the Ace.

Like in the first hand, Tom dealt all the replacement at once, and like in the first hand, he dealt them face up. Unlike the first hand, he dealt the cards to Cindy first.

"Four of Diamonds, Two of Hearts, Two of Clubs." Tom called out, "That gives you two pairs...sixes and twos. It is customary to identify the higher pair first, but not critical to determining who has the highest hand. While Linda's pair of sevens is higher than either of your pairs, the fact that you have two pairs makes your hand higher." Cindy beamed.

"Before you get too happy," Tom warned, "Linda still has a chance to improve her hand as well." The smile faded as Tom started to face the cards to fill out Linda's hand.

"Queen of Spades, Jack of Spades, King of Clubs." Tom announced, "Nice cards, but of no help. You still have a pair of sevens." Cindy's smile returned as she realized that she was safe for this hand. The only question was which of the others would be stripping.

"Eight of Spades, Nine of Spades, Eight of Diamonds." Tom called out as he flipped them over, "Looks like I drew a pair. And since it is bigger than pair than yours, you have the lowest hand Linda."

"Take it off! Take it off!" Cindy encouraged.
