Chapter 2

How should Cielo start his day?
Cielo Scarfs Some Breakfast
Yeah, brekkies. Nothin' like brekkies, even before you got dressed. Well, Cielo had to admit that at least making himself decent was a priority before stepping outside, whether he just threw on a towel, some pants, or even just a magazine he had lying on the floor. Energy had never much been Cielo's friend, but breakfast was its mistress of temptation.
It was a snug dorm apartment. Each had one entrance room which students usually used for lounging on a sofa, watching TV. On the opposite side from the door leading to the outer hallway was the open kitchenette area. On two adjacent sides were two windowed bedrooms each, each one scarcely large enough to hold a bunk bed, a dresser, and a desk. And, of course, there was the essential bathroom.
Cielo's room was adjacent to the kitchenette, so he moseyed on over with just a few steps and grimaced at the coldness of the tile floor. The kitchen was cramped, but suited the needs of four college-aged guys. Cielo wasn't too enthusiastic about his options, however. The oven was too much trouble, the microwave kind of reeked, and there wasn't any cold pizza left over. He opened one of the cupboards. "Cereal? Man, that's for night." He shoved a bagel into the toaster oven and awaited its cooking with impatience. "Don't burn, don't burn, don't burn!" With a few ahs and oohs and hand waves, he dabbed the comestible with cream cheese. Then he leaned his blue butt against the table and chewed. Savoring a meal like this was a luxury.
As he took the time to eat and wake up, Cielo took stock of the dorm's living room. It was a pig sty. Like, three dudes living together wasn't conducive to an entrant on Better Homes and Gardens' cover page, ordinarily, but if Cielo was prone to exaggeration, he'd have said the place had been burglarized. His first thought was to look for the remote controller to the TV, and there it was on top of the set as always. A single shoe was hiding beneath the coffee table, the couch cushions were askew, dirty laundry decorated the floor, and books had been left open here and there.
Cielo dusted the crumbs off of his fingers. "Hmm. Where is everyone?"
What's next on the well-fed Cielo's morning agenda?
