Chinese actress Tang Wei strips to nothing on the streets for movie scene

Chinese actress Tang Wei was seen completely naked out on the streets in Shanghai on Wednesday. CNN understands that Tang Wei was filming for an upcoming movie called Road to Fame, where she plays an 18-year-old college freshman using unorthodox methods to become a celebrity. The scene on Wednesday depicted her character stripping off her clothes under the eyes of onlookers and parading the sidewalk clad in absolutely nothing as an attempt to convince an award-winning director for a role in his movie that involves onscreen nudity.

A search on Weibo, China’s version of Twitter, found users had nothing but admiration for Tang Wei. “Wow! Tang Wei braves the streets in full nudity just for a scene!” exclaimed xyt126. “This is what you call an immaculate professional,” said j1b2h3 approvingly. “Baring her private parts onscreen to make the movie better, Tang Wei truly is the most dedicated actress ever!” enthused gspiao.

Inside sources reveal to CNN that the scene was originally meant to take place indoors in a “studio audition setting”, but Tang Wei pushed for it to be held outdoors on the busy streets of Shanghai, arguing that doing so would drive home her character’s determination more convincingly. The director then allegedly offered Tang Wei the option of wearing nipple tape or censoring her private parts onscreen, but Tang Wei rejected both ideas, saying she has to be depicted in full frontal nudity for the scene to be compelling. Judging by the tens of males compelled to relieve themselves on the spot at the sight of Tang Wei proudly flaunting her superb nude body in public, she certainly has a point.
