Cheri’s Trip Over

Watching the asses of her teammates disappear into the distance Cheri started to wonder if she’d made the right decision. She certainly felt more comfortable keeping off the path and sprinting along in the shadows taking cover behind bushes, but she was starting to realize that there was safety in numbers. If she got caught with the group that was one thing to explain away. Caught out here bottomless and alone? Completely different.

She was moving very slowly. She wasn’t sure how much time had past but it felt like the fifteen minute window was up. She was really starting to worry now. She had half a mind to turn back and make for the dorm. Really give Jen a piece of her mind. Just as she spun around to take in how far she’s come the sounds of a car on the nearby road could be heard and the lights from the headlights turning in her direction. Even though she was far from the path and even further from the road she bolted for the cover of the bushes outside a nearby building.

Cheri watched as a string of 4 cars drove down the road making their way in the direction of the stadium. It was to big of a coincidence. It had to be the group of upperclassmen. “Fuck!” She whispered aloud and wondered what she had to do. It didn’t seem like she had any other choice now. She’s have to make a run for it and hope she wasn’t too late arriving.

She took a few tentative steps out from behind her area of shelter. She was about to break into a run when the sound of voices and footsteps **** her to dive back into hiding.
