Chapter 12 by Felix715 Felix715

After lunch plans?

Check out your room

The discussion seems to die down and everyone has finished their meals. Looking around at each other, the three friends try to decide how to spend the rest of their day.

"We should go see where your room is." Suggests Victoria. "We can pick up your things from my room on the way and get you settled in."

"That would be nice." Iris responds. "But what about Arthur?"

"What about him? I'm sure he can find something to do without us." Victoria teases her brother.

"You girls go on ahead. I should go return those clubs anyway." Arthur tells the pair.

Victoria stands up from the table, grabbing Iris' arm. "What room number do you have?" She asks, leading their way out of the cafeteria.

Iris looks over her shoulder at Arthur still sitting at the table watching them leave. She gives him a smile goodbye and waves as the two girls exit into the hallway. "What? What was that Victoria?"

"Your room number, what is it?" Victoria asks excitedly.

"Oh." Iris pulls the key from her jacket pocket. "It says four thirty-five"

"Perfect! We are on the same floor, even if you are down the hall a bit." Victoria sounds genuinely happy as she continues leading Iris down the hall, back to the girls' dormitory. "So... How was golf with my brother? Was it terrible? You can be honest now that we are alone."

"No, we really did have a good time." Iris insists. "Golf isn't as boring as it sounds and... Arthur is really sweet. It was nice to spend the day with him."

The two girls enter the dormitory and take the same stairs as before, climbing their way up to the fourth floor. Only stopping once they reach Victoria's room. "We can grab your things while we are here." She says, unlocking the door. They both enter the room and Iris grabs her bag. "Do you have everything you need? Toothbrush, hairbrush, makeup?" Victoria asks.

Iris wasn't even sure what she had with her; it's wasn't even her that packed the bag. "Umm... I think so." She sounds unsure.

"We can get you unpacked and see if you are missing anything." Victoria smiles to her friend.

The two venture into the hall and start looking for Iris' room. Four ten... Four twenty... Four-thirty... Four thirty-five! Halfway down the hall, right next to the second set of stairs. Iris pulls her key from her pocket and unlocks her door. Stepping inside the room that will be her home for at least the next few months, she notices it is exactly like Victoria's.

"Home sweet home." Victoria laughs closing the door behind her. "Let's get you moved in." Iris drops her bag on the bed and opens it. Pulling out her old clothes she had crammed inside earlier. "Hmm... Those might be good for lounging around your room in but not much else." Victoria frowns.Iris pulls a folded uniform from her bag, looking it over. It really was a cute outfit, even if everyone was wearing it. "Here, hand those to me and I'll hang them up in the closet for you." Victoria offers.

"Thanks." Iris says, passing Victoria the uniform. "So... About Your brother..."

"Victor?" Victoria calls from the closet. "Or do you mean Arthur?" She asks, poking her head out to grin at Iris. A little confused why Victoria would bring up that jerk Victor, Iris just scowls. "Im just teasing. Of course you mean Arthur." Victoria laughs. "You like him, don't you?"

Iris turns a little red as she pulls a second uniform from her bag. As it so happens, she did like him that way more than she thought she would. "Well... I... Don't dislike him." She admits. "He is kind of charming in his own funny way. Does he... Or is he... Seeing anyone?" Deciding this might be a good opportunity to gather some information.

Victoria takes the uniform from Iris to hang it with the other in the closet. "He's not as popular with the girls as Victor but there have been a couple. Nothing serious though."

Iris pulls the last uniform from her bag, a concerned look on her face. Four uniforms were all she had, not even enough for a whole week of school. "Oh.." She sighs to herself.

"Don't worry about it." Victoria puts an arm around Iris' shoulder. "I don't think he's had his eye on anyone for a while. I bet we can do your makeup and something with your hair. He won't even look at another girl."

Iris held up her last uniform. "I meant, I only have four uniforms." Both girls just look at each other and laugh at the misunderstanding. "But that would be nice. I'm not great with makeup and this hair is a lot to deal with sometimes."

Taking the uniform, Victoria holds it up to herself. "You know, we are almost the same size. I might have an extra one you can borrow." She says before hanging it in the closet. "And I would be happy to help you with makeup. The boys never let me put it on them." She jokes.

Iris pulls out the evening dress, laying it on the bed, and looks in the bag. The only other clothes she has are a pair of shorts, one pair of jeans, and a couple of tops. Not a lot to work with, she thought.

Where does the girls conversation turn?
