“Let’s see what she has to say.” Kevin replied.

“Okay Miss. First give me your name; then tell me what happened here. If your story doesn’t jive, in you go. Just remember, no deals until I hear your story.” Barry pulled a pad from his shirt pocket, and then drew out a pen from within the booklet. He jotted down the notes as Ashley spoke.

“My name is Ashley. Ashley Freeman. My friend, Julie, and I were walking through the park, just minding our own business. We … uh … snuck back here for a little privacy. Barry continued scribbling in his notepad, shaking his head as he did so. When he was done, he sat Ashley down about fifty feet from where Julie remained curled and cowering.
