Check on Dick(less), and weighs his options on Joker

Batman took off his cape and wrapped up the **** Dick in it. She would be completely nude otherwise. Bruce placed her in the passengers side of the batmobile, and tossed the **** Joker in the back seat, and placed Joker’s alteration tech in the trunk. He then sped off to the Batcave, determined.

Oracle was already at the Cave when Bruce arrived, and had set up medical tables. “Bruce, what are we going to do? I’ve had the Batcomputer digitally dissect the formulas when you scanned them. The gas weakens the mind to the point where one affected by it could become just about anything an outside **** wanted, and the shapechanging serum is made with not only Clayface’s DNA, but high concentrations of female hormones and estrogen, among other chemicals, meaning that it can only turn the injected into a woman. We can’t use it to turn Dick back into a man.”

Batman had loaded up Dick and Joker onto the medical beds and strapped them down when Oracle has finished talking. “Okay then, I understand. We may be able to save Dick, his personality at least.” Bruce pulled out the alteration equipment, and plugged The Boob-Tube into the Batcomputer. “From what I could tell from the video feed, Joker’s technology had only worked on the physical changes when I came in. It hadn’t started altering his base personality, so we should at least be able to make sure Dick is still there. Barbara, scan this device and see what you can do in re-programming it. For now, I’m going to check on Dick and keep watch on The Joker.” Thankfully, Alfred had taken a vacation for the next month and Tim had moved from Gotham to work with the Teen Titans. They weren’t able to see what happened to their comrade and friend.

After a few minutes, Oracle came to a conclusion. “Bruce, there’s good news and there’s bad news. The good news is that Dick’s personality is mainly intact. His memories are still the same, I believe his morality will remain, and he will still know who he is... mainly.”

“Is this where the bad news comes in?”

“Yes, I’m afraid so. Joker’s device didn’t rewrite Dick’s personality completely, but it did alter it. From what I’ve gathered, Dick will now walk more like Harley, talk more like Harley, think more like Harley, and even will respond to Harley. He’ll think he’s completely a woman, a “female with a female’s body,” as these subliminals said, and with his body right now you can’t judge him-er, HER, for thinking so. I might be able to alter the device’s messages, but not enough to bring Dick back fully, at least just yet. However, we were lucky you pulled it off when you did. In addition to the personality alteration, there were hypnotic triggers in the messages, meaning that with a simple phrase Joker could’ve made Dick do anything he wanted. We were lucky.”

“Thank goodness.” Bruce said, worryingly, “Barbara I need you to do something for me. Joker has gone too far this time. We can’t let it slide anymore, he can’t go back to Arkham, or any other prison. But we can’t kill him.” Barbara asked what he meant. “You said you could alter the ‘Boob-Tube’s’ subliminal messages, right? Well, do you think you could alter how someone fully thinks? If they were a good person or a bad one?”

“I...I suppose I could, if they were to think of themselves as Harley Quinn, because unless we record new audio and have new footage, the device will brainwash them into becoming more like Harley.” Oracle responded, partly concerned. “What are you thinking of Bruce?”

“This is the only option we have right now Oracle, to finding a way to save Dick. I’m going to use the device to brainwash the Joker into becoming a new person, someone with his chemical mastery, but a sense of morality. No more evil and murdering, only helping us and doing what we need. He said it himself, he wants to die, but I can’t kill him. Giving him a new life is what needs to happen. Tell me what I would need to record, and I can do it. But we can’t just give him a new personality. We have to make him a completely different person, and that’s going to require the shapechanging serum.”

“Bruce, that’s mad! It’s immoral, changing someone like that, I’m surp-“

“Barbara, he put you in a wheelchair, killed Jason, and now this! We can’t let it go on any longer, and this is better than simply killing him, or giving him a lobotomy. We can save more people this way. And besides, wouldn’t it be satisfying to know that the Joker is now someone who does what you want?” Barbara thought for a moment, and made a choice.

“Okay Bruce, I’ll do this. Right now I’m scanning the “Boob-Tube,” and printing out its various messages, so we can choose what to change and how. You can also pick out the various females you’ll want the new Joker to be based on.” And Bruce replied, “Perfect. Let’s start.”

And so, Bruce and Barbara changed the scripting of the subliminals, they recorded new audio and video, and programmed it to just how they wanted. Bruce also kept in the hypnotic triggers, just in case. Finally, the improved Boob-Tube was complete and ready. Bruce made sure Joker was in a stable area, and tied down. He placed the mind-altering gas into the Joker’s still **** face, placed the Boob-Tube over his head, and injected Joker with the shape changing formula. The full process may take a while, but that was all that was needed.
