Upon return to college, Eve did not have time to go to her newly assigned dorm room and unpack. New propaganda posters had been spread all over the university. These posters however have not been put up by The Mandatory Diversity Committee but by a different organization.
The first poster Eve sees has a white guy and white girl on it in passionate embrace. Just like the Committee’s posters it also has a testimony.
“Mindy,
Forcing white girls to have sex with men they don’t know is wrong. I love my boyfriend and I will never cheat on him. Down with the mandate, whites belong together.”
Underneath the image and the testimony there are three words in large bold letters. “WHITE FOR WHITES!”
Eve can’t believe her eyes. Last year she had done all she could to diminish racism in this school and now, upon her return, racism has come back stronger than ever. She is going to have to have some strong words with James.
At the end of the week, the elections for new student body president begin.
Like expected, James is running for the position. He promises that upon being elected he will prevent the mandate for students to have interracial sex from ever becoming reality. He will also put an immediate stop to white girl Wednesdays and dissolve The Mandatory Diversity Committee.
The only other participant is Eve. She promises that upon election, she will do everything she can to enact the mandate and make it legal, should the students vote to do so. She will also continue the white girl Wednesdays and grant The Mandatory Diversity Committee more funds to help make students understand the value of a diverse society where everybody can be considered equal.
