Catching up with Asa

Saturday morning Bibi decides to send her favorite colleague Asa a message. "Asa may be worried for me..." Bibi says to herself. "After all she's a friend, and she knows about the trouble I had with Danny a week ago. This week I've been absent from work, and I didn't tell Asa a thing".

Bibi sends a message to Asa, "Hey Asa, wanna meet for a coffee today?... If you have time of course :)" Bibi writes.

Asa writes back almost instantly, "Bibi! I'm so glad to hear from you, I've been so worried... Coffee would be great, tell me the time and place".

Two hours later Bibi and Asa sit at a table with their coffees. After re-assuring Asa that she's fine Bibi starts telling Asa parts of what has happened.

"I've left Danny, and I live in a friends spare bedroom for now", Bibi says.

Asa smiles, "You have no idea how happy I am to hear that", she says. "You really needed to get rid of him, there was no way to make that relationship work".

Bibi nods, "You're right Asa, it took me too long to admit it to myself, but I'm so happy to be out of it... This past week's been, well... amazing, to say it mildly", she says with a dreamy look in her eyes before snapping herself back to the present.

"So, what now?" Asa asks. Asa notice the look in Bibi's eyes, but decides not to probe... for now at least.

"I'm quitting my job", Bibi says, "Leaving my old life behind, and starting over... But don't worry, I'll definitely keep in touch with you, if you want Asa, that's why I wanted to meet you today", she continues.

"I'd love to keep in touch", Asa says with a smile. "I really appreciate our friendship... I... I don't have any other non-Asian friends like you, Bibi" Asa says with a hint of sadness in her eyes.

Bibi knows that most people looks down on Asa just because she's Asian, and that's so unfair, Asa is an amazing person. Bibi also knows that Asa's been trying to find a non-Asian boyfriend, but so far with no luck. So Asa remains single. Unbelievable really, Bibi thought, Asa is smoking hot.

Bibi suddenly wondered if she always had adored Asa so much, or if her newly found bi-sexual side made her see Asa differently than before.

"Is there a new guy in your life?", Asa suddenly said, breaking the silence.

"What?", Bibi said. "Oh no... no new guy... it's... well, complicated".

Asa looked puzzled.

"Asa, how would you like to come over for a dinner at my friends place one day?", Bibi asked, but she would need to check with Murcy first if that would be ok, but she's sure it'll be fine.

"Oh, I would love to", Asa replies with a warm smile, "If it's ok with your friend".

"Sure, give me a few days, and I'll get back to you", says Bibi.

The two friends got up, and prepared to go their separate ways. Bibi pulls Asa in for a tight hug, and gives her a kiss on her cheek before they leave on their separate ways. Asa looks back in Bibi's direction as they leave, with a puzzled expression on her face. While she remembers Bibi having hugged her before, she's certain that Bibi never kissed her cheek before. Whatever is happening with Bibi has certainly made her shine. Asa can't wait to meet Bibi's friend, because she's certainly that this friend is the main reason for Bibi's change.
