Cassidy

Standing next to her, he said hello to the brunette girl. “Hey Cassidy, how are you doing?” he asked her.

“Oh hey Mark, I’m alright,” she said, finally receiving her bright cocktail. Cassidy was the girlfriend of his old roommate Matt. As friends, things between the trio took a turn for the worse when Mark and Cassidy slept together leaving Matt more the furious.

Since then, tensions had eased with Mark but after Matt started to sleep with Cassidy’s old roommate Jade, the former lovers were at odds again.

“Sure is packed in here tonight,” Mark told her while taking a moment to check her out. She had on a black sleeveless top and a pretty tight skirt that wrapped around her pretty behind.

Cassidy raised her eyebrows, nodding her head, “Two people too many,” she said, taking a look behind her.

Mark followed her eyesight to see her referring to Matt and Jade, coupled up at one of the tables with a couple of other old friends of Cassidy. He was about to respond but was interrupted by the bar tender, asking what he wanted to drink. Mark responded with a pot of beer and then continued on with his quick conversation with Cassidy.

“You still struggling with all of that?” Mark asked her, receiving his beer. The two began walking away from the front of the bar as Cassidy replied to his question, “I’m over Matt, I truly am. But it still sickens me that Jade did what she did and that so many of my so called ‘friends’ backed her up over me,” she explained.

“I’m sure you don’t really want to hear my opinion on this, but if it helps, fuck them! Tiffany asks about you all the time,” he said, “She’d love for you to hang out with them a lot more.”

“It’s fine Mark, I’m just choosing boys for best friends now. And just for friends, no relationship bullshit again,” she told him. It was at least good for Mark to hear that she wasn’t wanting to get back with Matt at all. At least that’s what it sounded like to him.

“Well... if you ever need someone to chat to, I’m always open for it,” he told her. She smiled back at him before giving him a friendly kiss on the cheek. “Think I’ll take that offer up, I miss talking to you,” she told him before going her own way.

At that moment, Daniel came back over to him, expecting his beer. “Oh come on man, one beer? Where’s mine?” he asked him.

“Ahhh shit! Sorry Dan, I was in my own little world,” he told him. With the shake of the head, Daniel walked off in the directed of the main bar to get himself a beer.

The rest of the night went by without any drama or anything too interesting happening. It was about 11pm and Mark was debating whether to call it a night here or go back to the bar for just one more drink.
