Work! You hadn't gotten up for work! You glanced at the clock on the nightstand, realizing it was closer to afternoon than morning. You had overslept! That must be Madge, or perhaps Eleanor, there to fire you on the spot. Say, that might not be so bad...

You grabbed the housecoat once more and rushed to the door, opening it to find Carol behind it.

"Carol! I... I don't have time to talk. I overslept and I really need to get to work..." you started.

"Never mind about work, I spoke with Madge, and she explained about our night out to Eleanor. She expects you in tomorrow, but today, you're mine. Get ready, I'm heading to the bridge club in about a half hour. Meet me out here." Carol said.

"Oh, I don't think I'm up to it today." you tried to wiggle out.

"Nonsense! You'll like it! You've got to meet the ladies. Every gal needs friends, right?" Carol asked.

Arguing with Carol was a losing proposition. You weren't getting out of this.

"Remember. Red dress!" Carol reminded as she shut the door.

You sighed in annoyance and returned to the bedroom. As much as you wanted to ignore Carol's suggestion, you were well aware that her busybody nature would eventually **** you into a dress again, so why delay the inevitable. You dug into one of the bags and found the red dress, a tight number with a flared skirt, and the box containing your new pair of red heels. You planned on forgoing the girdle and bullet-bra today, but when you put the dress on, you found that it refused to sit correctly without either of them on.

"I just can't win, can I?" you asked yourself. "Just calm down, it's only for a game of bridge. Once this week is over and I get my next paycheck, Carol be damned, I'm fixing that machine."

You had shaved your legs over the past week, so you didn't necessarily need to wear hose, but the breeze on your legs was still unsettling, so you went with a pair of nylons to alleviate it, although to be fair, the nylons caused an entirely new uncomfortable feeling, but one you had adapted to over the past week. Your hair didn't require that much brushing to return, it seemed to have no issue holding a curl, and you grabbed the purse before heading back to the front door.

"Carol is gonna be the **** of me." you thought to yourself as you opened the front door.

Carol was waiting on her porch, waving at you as you walked down the drive.

"Erica! No makeup, tut, tut." Carol admonished.

"I didn't feel like it today, honestly." you admitted.

"Doesn't mean you don't need it. But no matter, you can do it on the way." Carol said.

You groaned and climbed into Carol's car, disappointed in how you had adapted to walking in heels and wearing dresses. Seemed almost too easy... maybe this was a side effect of living in the past for too long, you start to accept your role... No! Of course not, that's silly. You were just getting used to it because this was your everyday, and you followed Carol's lead because if not, she'd probably call the cops on you for living in her friend's house.

During the car ride, Carol instructed you on how to apply everything, coming up with something resembling what had been done yesterday, but you took care to be slightly more subdued. You didn't want to give anyone the wrong impression.
