Tony could not believe what he heard. Steve would never do this. Still, Pietro said this is what happened and had to abort his pursuit as a result.
Some of the other Avengers aborted as well. Tony continued, he needed to hear Steve explain his action.
While he was following Steve through the streets of New York, Tony heard Jarvis say, “Sir, Miss Morse has shut down her GPS-tracking.”
“Mockingbird?” Tony asked. “Why did she do that?”
“No idea, sir.” Jarvis answered. “She is not responding to any of my hails.”
Barbara will need to wait till later, first Captain.
Eventually tony could shoot down the motorcycle Steve was escaping with. While Steve was still on the ground, Tony had the ironman suit float in front of Steve and held one arm stretched.
“What’s going on, Steve?” Tony asked his friend. “Why are you doing this?”
Steve stood up. Now that Tony could have a good look at Captain America, he noticed Steve had traded in his masculine jaw for a feminine one, gained wider hips and an A-cup.
“There’s something wrong with the Avengers, Tony.” Steve said. “I’m not the only one. Mockingbird has noticed it as well.”
Tony couldn’t deny it. He too has been feeling something was off about the others.
“Tony, we’ve got the fire under control.” Hawkeye said to Tony through the communications. “Do you have a lock on the Captain?”
“If they capture me we’ll never be able to find out what they’re up to, Tony.” Steve pleaded. “Let me go and I’ll get to the find out what they’re hiding. We can solve this, but not from the inside.”
“Tony, come in.” Hawkeye called again. “Do you read me?”
