Call Appa.

Luckily, Aang had some more tricks up his sleeve as he whistled, and it didn't take long before a long thud called the attention of everyone, followed by the loud grunt of a beast. "Appa!" The young Airbender called out as he rushed over towards the massive animal that was apparently named Appa. The siblings had never seen anything like that before, as all of its kind had gone extinct long before they were born. "Guys, this is Appa. My sky bison! He'll fly us back to your home." Aang introduced happily, having jumped on top of the sky bison and gesturing his new friends to come over.

Katara didn't hesitate for a moment, and with Aang's help, she crawled into the saddle of that beast. "I'm not getting on top of that fluffy monster!" Sokka called out in disbelief, clearly not loosened up very much. He grunted as he looked around, trying to find another way of getting back. "And there's no way it can actually fly!" He added, but he did sound less confident. Even if it didn't fly, it seemed to be their only opportunity. With some convincing of Katara, he troubled himself by crawling up the side of that beast - which was surprisingly soft - and held onto the saddle firmly.

As everyone settled down, Aang was sitting on Appa's head to grab the reins. As he called out YIP YIP, the beast jumped high into the air. For a second, it actually seemed like they were flying before Appa landed belly first down into the water again. "Great." Sokka grinned softly as he was proven right after all.

"He's just tired! Appa can just swim us back to the village, right boy?" Aang patted his animal friend's head before hopping into the back of the saddle...
