Buffy Plans Ahead

Buffy quietly moved around the house as she kept watch. Willow and Amy assured her that there was no danger of anyone trying to attack them, that wasn’t what the spell did. She should take the time to get some sleep.

Except Buffy had had enough sleep while the others had been out. Now she was just waiting for the sun to rise so that they could get out and put an end to this. Dawn having headed out without permission had terrified her. It hadn’t helped that she had barely been able to yell at her sister. Willow had reminded her that they needed everyone on board. Starting a fight now was a really bad idea.

Buffy continued to pace. She had to keep her thoughts off what had happened back at the school. She desperately wanted to run out into the street and the first man who gave her money would…no, she couldn’t think that. She had to focus on the plan.

The Mayor? Willow seemed pretty certain he was behind things. Buffy wasn’t even sure how they could deal with something like that. She could fight all sorts of demons, but didn’t know what to do with politics. That would have to wait.

Amy was pretty certain that she had tripped a trap in the Bronze. But Buffy thought they could use that to their advantage. Maybe see who showed up to investigate. She and/or Faith could handle it, perhaps with Willow to worry about the magic.

More than anything, Buffy wanted to talk to Giles. Let him know about the Mayor. But she couldn’t risk going back to the school. Though it didn’t have to be her that went.

And there was still the issue of keeping people safe. What was up with the police cars? Maybe it wasn’t worth beating around the bush anymore. Just send a couple people to go have a talk.
