Buddy helps but...

"I will give you a hand. I will get you to the Tech store across the street by being your lookout. Don't come through the hedge until I give you the signal. Once the coast is clear, run like hell." Buddy slipped through the hedges looking left and right. After a second or two, Buddy popped his head back through and looked me up and down. "So Benjamin, if I help you out with this will you start taking my calls again?"

I had to think for a moment, "That...most likely depends on Brittany and Austin. I can't even use my phone unless they contact me."

"Well, if I find a way to fix that can we hang out again?"

"How are you going to fix that?"

He gave me a 'sly-as-a-fox' smirk, "Trust me, I might have an idea."

I didn't have time for this so I just gave in, "Fine, whatever! If you can actually get Brittany and Austin to give me my phone back, I will call you everyday!"

"Sweet! Can come visit you too?"

"Yes! Whenever you want, bring a friend for all I care!" I was just joking about that last part. I really hope he doesn't take it seriously.

"And you will come and meet up with me?"

I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, okay! Whatever! Just help me out here already!"

"You got it chief!" Buddy winked and disappeared through the hedges again.

Jesus, was he always this clingy? Maybe he really was that lonely before he met me. Maybe he was setting things up just to mess with me some more. Either way, I didn't actually believe Buddy could convince Brittany and Austin to give me my phone back. So I would have promised him the moon at that point if he would only help me out just this once. In the end, I don't think it would even matter "Thanks Buddy, and hurry up already!" I really did appreciate Buddy's assistance but those voices I heard from before were getting louder and louder. Any moment now...
