I tried to fall back asleep after the dream but I just can't. All the events from the prom were branded into my mind like a picture. Pissed off and tired, I got off the bed and decided to make myself useful and cook breakfast. I checked the clock. 6:00 AM. Not bad. I have woken up earlier than this before.
After brushing my teeth and relieving myself in the bathroom, I went downstairs and started to cook breakfast. You can never go wrong with scrambled eggs and bacon. For ten minutes, I listened to the sound of food sizzling and the clock ticking. I made sure to have four plates available for everyone. I quietly ate by myself while scrolling through my news feed on Facebook.
"Well what do you know. Turns out the wedding rehearsal is scheduled for today. Must have forgot the date." I thought to myself.
7 AM. Everyone was still asleep. It wasn't surprising to me since people in my family are somewhat heavy sleepers. I decided to have my daily run. Back in California, I would spend most of my morning exercising to relieve all my stress and quite frankly, it keeps my mind off of certain situations and issues going on in my life. Right now was no different since Sarah lives like 20 feet away from my doorstep.
I quietly crept upstairs and changed into my running gear, a old white t-shirt and basketball shorts. I grabbed my phone and jogged outside, listening to the latest hits on iTunes. I left a note saying that I was our for a jog.
I enjoyed the feeling of the warm April breeze coursing through my hair. I makes me feel, alive, if that is how I would put it. The rhythmic breathing and beat of the music really calms me down. I felt totally at ease for two miles. I stopped in front of a bridal store and smiled. "Harry is one lucky guy." I said to myself. I turned around and started running back home until I met the asshole.
Standing a couple of yards ahead of me, there was Joshua. The source of my griefs and the sole reason for collapse of my relationship with Sarah. My insides started churning and my stomach was in knots. Turns out Josh met another girl. He was too busy groping the redhead's breast in public to notice me. The guy makes me sick. The girl is probably Joshua's latest "Flavor of the Month."
Fuck that guy. I started to turn around and circle around the block to avoid him but stopped. He was totally oblivious to me. And he totally deserves a beating right now. I wasn't the scrawny nerd anymore. Instead, I was a miniature version of my dad. I could totally take him in a fight. I stepped towards him and stopped.
