Break Girl rolls forward and sacrifices the Break Girl Shield to escape.

Panicking as the ground grew more and more distant, Break Girl rolled forward onto her stomach and attempted something like a mid-air butterfly stroke. That proved about as effective as it ordinarily did when the coyote tried it in the cartoons: the would-be infiltrator didn't gain any forward momentum at all. Worst of all, she was beginning to get vertigo... "Gosh darn it, why would I be programmed with a fear of heights?! Wait. If I keep up like this, it's gonna snag my Break Girl Shield! And if that happens, what if it comes loose? I'm gonna go from being Break Girl to Broken Girl! O-or Pancake Girl! Or something!! Wait..."

Break Girl realized she wasn't that high up. "I mean, it's higher than a human wants to fall from. I'm a robot... I'll... be fine? Probably? Let's give it a shot!" As she released her shield from her back, the lighter and fully metallic equipment zipped up to the Mag-Fly. Evidently satisfied that it had snagged an intruder, the patrol bot zipped into a hatch in the side of the building, disappearing...

Meanwhile, the actual intruder it had almost snagged fell and landed on her back. "Oof!!" The would-be infiltrator was seeing stars for a moment, wishing she'd still had the shield to break her fall... "Oh well. A shield's not important on a stealth mission, anyway! The rest of this is gonna be easy-a piece of cake, I'm sure."

Break Girl finished her entry in a hurried jog. Soon, she was safely pressed against the wall of the building in the dark with a nervous frown, inching her way around to find an entry point.

... Well, that was a surprise. The first door she found seemed to have an electronic lock, but, as best as she could tell, it was completely powered down. It wasn't just the first floor lights that were off... The security itself seemed to be off, excluding the defenses she'd noted on the perimeter.

Was it a trap? Was it safe to just walk in? Break Girl didn't have any better ideas...
