It has been 200 years since the great war between the invading communists and the liberty defending americans, the nukes fell, the world ended, and most of us are forever doomed to the wastes.

This is Boston, a now "thriving" part in the ruins of America, complete with several sort of sane people. There are loely farmers that live off the land, Diamond City a hub the people built together, the BOS airship ; full of tech loving fanatics, a shady resistance group known as The Railroad, an even shadier group responisble for the creation of human like robots known as synths called The Institute, The vaults full of people and loot, and of course Raider camps of all shapes and sizes: Cults, Bandits, slavers, serial killers, lunatics, and other "things"
