Boarding a cruise

Your skillful sneaking eventually brings you to the harbor, where an enormous cruise ship is docked. There’s a decently-sized line in front of it, with a man letting them through one by one. Gina, though, waltzes straight up to the man, flashes him a piece of paper, and walks past everyone who’s waiting patiently. She cut in line! That instantly makes her a bad person. But this cruise ship might be your golden opportunity to get back at her.

You line up like a respectful, rule-abiding citizen and wait to reach the ship. You stand patiently, whiling away your time by imagining Gina crying after she’s lost. After several minutes, you notice the noise has picked up quite a bit, and looking behind you, the line now stretches back endlessly. Looks like you picked the right time to get in line!

You’re only one person away from being let onto the ship. Unfortunately, it’s an elderly woman who seems completely befuddled by what’s going on. She reaches into her pockets, then her purse, stops to make small talk with the man in charge of the line, then checks her purse again. At some point, the man looks up to scan the line of people, and his face goes pale.

He throws you a questioning look as he points at a piece of paper he’s holding. Does he want to know if you want the paper? Maybe it’s a brochure or something. Yes, you do want a brochure, so you nod. He flashes you a thumbs up and waves for you to enter the ship. Huh, maybe he’ll give it to you later? Oh well. You smile back at him as you board the ship. Now to find Gina…
