Block the doors, and defend the tavern.

You grab at the nearest table to you, the man who had been sitting on it protests for a moment but is silenced by your glare. You shove the table up against the door. Outside of the building screams can be heard in the distance as well as the sounds of fighting. The Knights under your command who had been watching the city gates must still be alive out there, and you only hope they can buy the townspeople enough time for a chance at survival.

A few men inside the tavern begin to aid you, shoving stools and tables against every entrance to the tavern and gathering what weapons they can to aid in combat. Some simply have broken legs of chairs while a few had daggers or short swords. You stand between the front door and them clad in your steel armor, your own sword in hand as what sounds like a battering ram slams into the door, causing it to rattle and nearly splinter to pieces.
