Big Win

Yang had started with 500 Lien and was now at 650. She needed at least 3,000 to complete her wish list of upgrades. She needed to go big if she didn't want to stay here all night making paltry bets and getting paltry winnings. So she decided to go big and push 500 Lien in chips into the betting circle.

"Oh, confident are you?" The older gentleman commented toward her. "Then I'll copy your bet."

The gentleman slide 500 Lien worth of chips into his own betting circle and the round began.

Yang could feel her heart beating heavily in her chest. She tried to stay calm, but most of her funds were on the table. This one round could help decide her night.

The cards given to her were a six and a king for a total of 16 with the dealer having a five showing. 16 was a really awkward number to have in blackjack. The dealer had to stop if he had 17 or greater, but standing on any of those numbers would beat her. Hitting and hoping she got a five card or less was risky but staying at 16 was also risky.

Swallowing heavily, she signaled for a hit. The card was dealt, a five, giving her a total of 21. She sighed in relief, one **** gamble won.

The dealer a king, for 15. Then an ace for 16. Then finally a nine, for 25. A bust. And just like that, she was 500 Lien richer.

The gentleman next to her swore under his breath as he busted, now down 500 Lien of his own. Fed up with his continued losses he stood up from his chair.

"I always rather preferred poker to blackjack. More interesting to play against other people than a dealer who doesn't care if they win or lose." The man said sounding annoyed. "Good luck to you young lady."

She gave him a light wave, her mind still reeling at her big win. She was now at 1150. If she made more large bets, she would have enough Lien to pay for all her stuff within 5 minutes.

If she won of course. If she lost she'd be right back to square one. Then she'd either have to leave or do something ****.
