Big, new things.

This time John was ready for the acceleration and deceleration.

"Look who is catching on!" Crystal exclaimed. To which John beamed brightly at her.

Looking around, John felt much more comfortable with this neighborhood. The houses were in great condition and each one was painted a different color. Trees were in full bloom along the sidewalk and the cars on the street, while nothing fancy, were all in working condition and clean.

"Now this is more like it!" John stated.

"You think so? Any guesses as to where we are?" Crystal asked.

"I don't know. Maybe the Paibrook area?" John guessed.

"Nope. We are still in the Hollow."

"Bullshit!" John was in shock. "How is it so nice?"

"A lot of that is thanks to you." Crystal told him.

"Me? What did I do in this timeline?" John wondered.

"It's not what you did, but what you are continuing to do." Crystal stated. "Follow me, I'll show you."

Again Crystal turned down a brick walkway, lined with Hydrangeas, and climbed the three brick steps into a house that was painted in a lovely, pale sea foam green. This time they did not walk up to the second landing, but instead went into the only apartment on the first floor. The paint in this apartment wasn't peeling and varied, with the light, between a light mint-green and stark white. The windows were framed with intricate, heavy curtains and had thin, lace curtains drawn across their width. On the floor, instead of moldy and stained wall to wall carpeting, their was a polished hardwood floor with simple area rugs around the furniture. John looked around the apartment some more and found that the kitchen had brand new appliances and that the bathroom had a deluxe shower head and stall with a bench in it.

He walked past Crystal and went to check out the bedroom. There were a pair of varnished French doors leading into the bedroom, again with lace curtains drawn across. He opened the door, peeked in, and got the shock of his life.
