Chapter 4 by vertigo vertigo

Kim Possible characters interacting with characters from:

Bible Black

The Bible Black, also known as the Black Book of Magic is a grimoire of spells written in Europe around the 12th century. The book was said to be the source of power and influence for the Knights Templar. Some historians believe the fabled book was what resulted in the French King Philip IV and Pope Clement V condemning the order as heretics. Despite their wealth and standing, the order was murdered and the book taken by the king and pope for their own ends. However, they were unable to unlock the book's secrets and it fell into obscurity.

The power contained in the book was said to compose of spells, rituals for summoning demons and raising the dead.

Such a book was claimed to be found about eighteen years ago in Japan by a bunch of high school girls that had formed a witchcraft club. The young women were said to have used the books power to sell love curses to their peers. Like the Templars before them, the club grew in power and influence within the school. Their actions only seemingly halted by a ritual gone wrong where several of the girls seemed to have killed one another.

An investigation was launched but no evidence of the book was found or any witnesses of the girl's action came forward.

Fast forward twelve years and a second incident occurred at the same school on the pagan night of the Walpurgis or spring festival. This time only one ****; A woman by the name, Reika Kitami, who was said to of disappeared around the time of the first incident. Staff identification on the body showed she had worked at the school as a teacher but no records of her employment were found and none of the other faculty members seemed to remember her.

Although the incident was contained and only a handful of people knew about it, rumours had spread of a second occult related **** at the same school, forcing the government's hand to step in and investigate. Shortly after all students were relocated to other schools and the records of what happened (or lack there of) was sealed. The black book at the centre of it all, once again, was never found.

"So what do you think Kim?"__

"Really Wade? Our client wants us to hunt down this book that no one knows anything about and has zero clue where it is? I know I advertise that I can do anything but come on; throw me a bone here."

"Sorry, Kim. What I just told you is all the information the client would tell me. Kept herself quiet anonymous except I was able to hack her phone and get a satellite photo of her. Funny thing is though she doesn't seem to exist, online or otherwise. I couldn't find a scrap of information on her identity."

"You think this might be some kind of set up? But why? What did I ever do to her?"

"MAYBE IT'S SHEGO!" Shouted Ron as he leapt from his seat in triumph and making a pose, basking in his own genius. This outburst caused several people at the surrounding tables to give the pair stern looks before going back to their meal. Kim simply gave her boyfriend a more severe **** stare, which caused him to panic slightly with an audible gulp before quietly sitting back down.

The screen on Kim's Kimmunicator flipped from Wade's image to a live stream of the inside of a containment unit with a pale, green, skinned woman with dark hair seemingly bouncing a glowing emerald ball of plasma off the glass wall of her cell. The streams audio picks up the woman's voice as she sighs, "Boooring!"

The picture quickly changes back to Wade, showing him looking worried and possibly tired from lack of sleep. "Shego is still locked up and Drakken is in the middle of his latest psyche evaluation. From what I can tell, they really are serious about turning over a new leaf. There have been no escape attempts since you guys started college."

"So That's a no go on Shego. What about other suspects? I know it's a long list Wade but I'm not taking this job if it means walking into a trap. I've got papers due this week."

"Monkey Fist was last seen at a temple in the Himalayas, Duff Killigan has been busy on tour since they let him play professionally again and Señor Senior, Senior passed away just last week. Everyone else has either moved on with their lives or just fallen off the radar."

Kim let out a heavy sigh and rubbing the bridge of her nose. A little habit brought on by the stress of higher education and her own boredom. Her jobs had become...easy; too easy and Kim was getting sick of it. Even the added Ron factor didn't make the work interesting as her boyfriend was actually starting to develop an alarming level of competence. The truth was she was hoping this was a trap and Wade just kept shooting down her expectations.

"Maybe this is a sign that We should finally call it quits."

Both Kim and Kimmunicator Wade turn around to look at Ron with renewed confusion.

"What? It's a valid point. We've been at this superhero gig for years now and yeah, it's been fun but," there was a pause as Ron just shrugged his arms in the air as if what he was about to say was obvious but surrendered to the persistent blank stares from his audience. "College! You know that institution of learning and self-discovery that is going to help determine what we're going to do for the rest of our lives?" Ron's expression seemed to slip into a faint anger as he was now focused on Kim. "Honey, we still haven't talked about where the two of us are going to live after we graduate let alone how we are going to even afford a place with the slow down in jobs."

"So what are you saying, Ron? That we should get nine to fives like regular adults? We aren't exactly regular people, you with the whole mystical magic monkey power and me being an international woman of mystery." Kim could see her attempt at humour wasn't working. Ron was right, and that was what stung the worst. They had become too good at their jobs, to the point where Global Justice now had an official protocol named after them to be used only if a threat warranted their involvement, which at the moment was ... never.

"I guess that means this will be our last case." Wade's words felt like they were being etched in stone as he said them.

"Not you too Wade?"

"Sorry, Kim but for once, Ron's logic is on the money. The job's we do just aren't pulling in the capital in the same way they use to. There is just not enough work to justify the cost. Unless Drakken has a serious relapse in the next three months, we will be bankrupt."

"I had no idea our finances were that bad."

"They're not, yet! But in three months We will have run out of petty cash plus no one owes us any favours anymore."

The three friends share a silent moment.

Meanwhile...
