Bernie

Lil looked up startled at Bernie.

“Hush its alright I just wanted to see if you were alright and I see you are. Who’s your friend? Have you had as much fun as I have with Lynn?”

“This is Lei and yes I have”. She turned to Lei “ Now just because I m talking to my friend here doesn’t mean you stop doing what I told you to.” Half-joking she continued “ And from now you on you call me Ms Lillian. As Bernie started to tell her Lynn returned with some more clothes.

“OK Lei” said Lil, thinking how far can I go in this dominating act, “go back to work now. I shall speak to you later”

“Yes Ms Lillian” Lei left.

“Hmm maybe you’re right. He broke off with Sharon because she acted like one when she was drunk. OK what else can you show us?”

Just then Lil's phone rang. She picked it up “Gary smsed me. He says there's a visitor for me at home and we have to come home ourselves” Lil groaned. “How are we going to do that?”

Ever practical, Bernie answered “There's the new Light rail line that goes near your place its stops only a block or so away. I’ve used it a few times. Let’s try that”

Lil giggled at a wicked thought “Lets get in all this new clothing and see what effect we have on the guys on the train”

Bernie and Lil did so and looked at themselves in the mirror. “Problem is we would all but have to get undressed for most of this to show” said Bernie. “There's no way I’m going to do that on any train- you can call it a street car named desire but I’m no Blanche”.

As the girls paid for their purchases Bernie thanked Lynn “I really enjoyed all you did for me” she emphasised ‘all’.

“You’re most welcome anytime and yes I do mean that”.

At the same time Lil spoke to Lei “I really enjoyed your little roleplay in there and thanks for the clothes”.

They got out and walked back the block or so to Lil’s house.

Lil turned to Bernie “What are you going to tell Gary about this afternoon?”

“I don’t know. Have to think bout it”

The girls walked on in silence till they got home when they found the visitor was a very apologetic Colleen Flanagan who stood up "Lil I want to say how sorry I am for what happened with Steve. He told he and you were over. I wouldn’t have had sex with him otherwise. I am so sorry. Please forgive me”

Lil looked at the girl she had known since school- never a close friend.
Lil had always thought Colleen moody and a dope when it came to boys. Now she thought “it took guts to come and apologise” and then said “YYes you told me that on the phone a while back."

"Yes but i wanted to do it in person. We have known each other from school. I don't want bad feelings with someone I knew for that long. Forgive me?"

"Well I guess I have to Colleen are you going out with Steve now?”

“No how could I when I knew what he did to you?”

Gary and the girls chatted for a few moments till Colleen left. Gary showed her to the door. As he did so Lil whispered to Bernie “I think my brother had sex this afternoon. He has that look about him”

“What with Colleen?”

“She always was a stupid tart – she’s so weak she’ll do almost anything a guy asks her”

“I don’t think so Gary wouldn’t do that to me. But even if he did what can we say after what we did today ourselves. I need to think and talk to you later about this. In any case Colleen was nice enough to come and see us and apologise. She wouldn't come apologise for screwing your ex and then screw my current boyfriend”
