Bedtime

“Let’s get him to bed.” Connor agrees, and he and the girls stand. Naomi gets Susie and Hannah to stand, and then Connor and Diane pull Billy on to his feet. He leans heavily on Diane. “Can you walk him there?” Connor asks.

Diane sighs. “Sure, yeah.” She starts to lead him towards his bedroom, as Connor walks off to look for Julian and Ella.

As she walks into his bedroom, Billy reaches over to cop a feel at Diane, who quickly dumps him on to the bed, shuddering.

“Go to bed.” She sighs, pausing and staring down at him before heading back towards the living room.
