Beat the shit out of Adrian

In a heartbeat, Broden closes the distance to the sofa. He effortlessly yanks Adrian up by the scruff of his shirt with one arm, and punches him square in the face with the other.

Adrian barely has time to wake up before he goes tumbling backwards over the coffee table, landing on his shoulders with his ass up in the air.

"Yo, what the fu-!?"

He's cut off as Broden drags him up again. He then points at you.

"You did this?! To her?!"

He seems to regard you in confusion for a moment, before things click.

"Oh, shit! Sorry, Carol!" He laughs, in the same goofy way he's been laughing all evening. Only now the sound of it gives you the same feeling as the sound of metal scraping against glass. "Guess I got a bit carried away..."

"I'll carry you away!" Broden growls, and picks Adrian up over his shoulder. Adrian complains and tries to worm his way out of Broden's grip, but his attempts prove fruitless as Broden carries him through the doorway and back down the corridor, dumping him outside the door to his room.

"You better hide yourself up in here. 'Cos any time I see you in the common room again, or anywhere for that fucking matter, I'mma beat the shit out of you. You got it?"

The girl picks up Adrian's discard jeans, and tosses them down the hallway at him. Moments later, you hear a door open and swiftly slam shut again.

The girl then sits beside you on the couch, and starts gently stroking your hair "Shhh, it's okay now, he's gone. Carol, right? I'm Maisie."

And then you hug her, as tight as you can, finding strength you didn't know you had left and would've really been helpful a few minutes ago. Your tears finally start drying up, but you still pour every last remaining one into her shoulder.

She says nothing more. She just holds you, and lets you get it all out.
