Beasts of a task

"Beasts."

The words echoed in my mind, and for the entire next day I sat in the Chess Club surrounded by all the books on beasts the entirety of Hogwarts had.

The gang was here, taking notes on anything they thought may be useful. But I was growing tired of studying, and nerves were beginning to wear on me. My eyes were beginning to wander. Now becoming more interested in Padma's smooth legs, as she played with her painfully short skirt as she saw my eyes wander. I could probably have those legs wrapped around my head in no time.

I shook my head trying to concentrate. This was a no fail mission. My life was at stake tomorrow. Whatever animal it was could kill me potentially. Past Champions had been killed during events.

"Don't worry," said Cho, "You're going to be fine." Michael Echoed her statement by shaking his head in a half slumber. Although no words could make me feel better.

This was a situation where only my own actions and performance mattered. Even the murmurs from outside were ringing in my ears.

"Try not to shame the family." Isadora's words echoed in my mind. And that fact bothered me.

The door to the Chess club was thrown open. I didn't turn behind me to see who entered. For the answer came quickly.

"Idius," spoke Hermione's sweet voice.
