Danny had just sealed the ghost king into the sarcophagus, and the Ring of Rage shattered during the fight, and the power of Pariah Dark filled the room. A ghost portal has been created with the remaining power of Pariah Dark pulling Danny into it. The effort out of the fight had been too much for Danny, so he fainted. Because the Ring of Rage was broken, the portal became unstable, which not only sent Danny elsewhere, but also ripped his memories and powers out.

A portal opened above the bed of Kate Kane the Batwoman as she entered her chambers to rest after her patrol. When she hears a baby cry coming from her bed, she gently lifts him up. She stared down at this baby that could be more than a few weeks old. "You cann't be older than a couple of weeks. Kate determined, what am I going to do with you?" Kate now saw that over the baby and herself a portal and realized that someone had pushed the baby through it. She foamed now in anger how could anyone do that to a child. No matter what happens, she will not give it back to those who sent him away. She picked up her cell phone and called her girlfriend Renee Montoya a detective in the Gotham City Police Department (GCPD). "Darling, you always wanted a baby?" Kate asked. "Yes," Renne answered uncertainly. "I then need adoption papers, in front of me, baby boy dropped out of a portal." "Is he hurt?" Renee asked worriedly. "No, but I'll take him to be sure later to a doctor." said Kate. "Okay, we'll talk later, then I have the adoption papers," replied Renee, "I know someone there, love you." "Love you too." Kate hung up.

Kate looked at the baby and thought, "What will we call you?" When Kane touched him, she got all the scraps of memory left over. She saw almost all of his battles against the Ghosts and his last fight against the Ghost King.

Kate now knew he could never go back and knew that she could raise him as her own son. "I think we keep the name. She said to the baby, if Renee does not mind."
