Making the call, Lily's brother Jack answers the phone "Hello Jack can you tell mom and dad that I might be later than we thought!"

"Not really! Were about four miles from home and running low on gas!" hanging up, returning the phone to Tom

As she was talking Tom concentrated on driving taking the most direct route to conserve fuel. Thirty-five minutes later he turns onto Lilystreet ,pulling into her driveway just as the needle hits the 'E' on the gauge.

"Well Lily i got you home, but i may not get there!" Taking out his phone, "Great like my car, my phone's battery dead!"

"Don't worry Tom you can spend the night here and make arraignments in the morning!
