"Annd presto," Allen said as the last door section slid open for him.

"Best money I ever spent," he unplugged the cables from his remote jumper device and stepped into the engine room.

He shined his light at the series of pipes that led to a small window showing the cold reactor core. "well, she looks intact,lets start her up," he stepped over to the nearby terminal and flicked a few switches before he pushed the power button.

Allen watched, as a stream of energy shot forth from the 6 corners of the circular core, creating a flash of pure white light that Shone through the reactor window.

A gentle hum filled his ears as the lights above his head lit up, temporarily blinding him.

"Agh Christ. Hey veronica, I got it started. How are things on your end?"

"I'm almost there, just climbing another set of stairs."her labored voice buzzed in his helmet. "Damn these boots, I think its just another door lock after that and i'm through"

"Roger that. I'm gonna take a quick look around and make sure everything's okay before I head over to the mess hall.
