Back To Hannah

You walked down the hallway and let out a small smile. You stopped for a moment and thought how much you just gained, a chance. Though this museum wasn't exactly Fort Knox it was not crawling with the dead and that was more than safe. You did think of all the things that you've read in those stupid zombie books and came to a pretty easy idea, a fence.

"So it looks like you made it!" Hannah exclaimed startling you,

"Jesus Hannah! Is this a average thing for you scaring people?" You said putting your hand over your heart,

Hannah let out a laugh, "Not really but it's funny to do it to you, you've got to be more prepared Garrett."

"Yeah I guess I will have to be. Wait a minute how do you know that I made it?" You asked,

"It was your smile and like I said, Scott's a good guy. We've only had to reject one guy, he was a real asshole." Hannah said than walked up to you, "Now come on let me show you around." You nodded and followed Hannah back down the stairs.

Hannah brought you up to an older looking man, He was balding and wore a small thin frame glasses "That's Greg, our door man. He handles things that don't have him moving around a lot. Nice guy but doesn't speak English too well, I think he was Italian or something like that." Hannah than brought you down towards the front where a woman and a man were patrolling around the windows. The woman had short blonde hair and carried around a simple hunting rifle. The man wore a police officer's uniform along with a police cap, he carried a pump shotgun. "The guy is Andy, he was a cop from the city. He linked up with early to be honest he's a bit of a prick. The girl's name is Ellie, she was a baker or something like that. She's ditsy but nice enough I suppose." Hannah than brought you to a large room that was cleared out from any museum items and instead was full of small cots and bedrolls, "Now quite clearly this is our dorm room. It was some sort of medieval exhibit but we cleared all that out and set up this stuff."

"Hey there brother you new?" A young black man said while walking up to you,

"Yeah, this is Garrett. Garrett this is Devin." Hannah said, Devin let out a warm smile. He had a buzz cut and had a crossbow strapped onto his back,

"Nice to meet you Devin." You said shaking his hand,

"You to my man, looking forward to working with ya." Devin said than walked away towards a cot,

"Seems nice." You said to Hannah,

"Yeah Devin is probably the most upbeat person here." Hannah agreed, "Here let's go to the roof, I think Mindy should be on watch." Hannah brought you back towards the loading docks and walked over to a ladder that went up to a hatch. You followed her closely and pulled yourself onto the roof. "Mindy, where are you?" Hannah called out,

"Over here Hannah." Mindy replied from the front end. You walked over to her along with Hannah and found a young Asian woman with long black hair. "Who the hell are you?" Mindy asked,

"I'm Garrett, Hannah just brought me back." You answered,

"Oh, nice. Well I'm Mindy I used to be cashier now i'm, what would you say Hannah?" Mindy asked looking over at her,

"Our crack-shot." Hannah said with a smirk,

"Sure, I guess i'm the crack-shot around here." Mindy said with a smile,

"That's good, I'm alright but I don't know if I'm crack-shot level." You said to her,

"Well we'll see eventually I'm sure. Anyway guys I gotta get back on watch so I'll see you around." Mindy said with a smile and turned back towards the streets. Hannah brought you back down the ladder and to the dorm.

"Well I guess you should grab a cot, big day tomorrow and all that." Hannah said smiling at you with her big blue eyes,

"Alright and hey Hannah thanks you know for everything." You said,

"No problem Garrett, couldn't leave you behind." Hannah said and gave you a little sock in the shoulder before walking away. You laid down on your cot and quickly fell asleep feeling for one of the first times in month's safe.
